Things to do & see while here

Railroad Stuff:

The organizing committee is very excited to announce a pre-Symposium event which registered attendees may experience. Doug Junda, of San Juan Models, has arranged to have the Como Roundhouse open! The Como Roundhouse as well as a self-guided tour of the Rail Heritage site of Como, including the Como Hotel, the Como Depot, water tank, the locomotive “Klondike Kate”, C&S rolling stock as well as many other sites will be open on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Don’t miss this special opportunity. So come out to the Symposium early and check out the restoration work being done by the South Park Rail Society and the Denver, South Park & Pacific Historical Society at the South Park National Heritage Area in Como, Colorado! Como is about 65 miles west of the Symposium Hotel and is an hour and twenty minute scenic drive. This event will be open only for registered Symposium attendees. This event is weather dependent.
